Blog Etiquette

  • Posted on January 3, 2011 at 4:02 pm

Blog EtiquetteIn this article blog post I’m going to try to explain about some of the unspoken and spoken rules of blogging and commenting on blogs, or better known as ‘blog etiquette’.

I know that many people out there have blogs, or like to read and comment on blogs. And that many of you may be very good at what you do. But I’m going to talk to those of you that are not that good, have learned from the wrong people or wrong software trainings, and/or those of you who may just be ignorant to blog etiquette. Now understand that when I say ignorant, I do not mean dumb or stupid. I mean, lacking the proper knowledge or information, to make the correct decision.

First, let me discuss commenting on blogs. Commenting on blogs is a great way to connect with people and to create back links to your own sites. But when you are leaving a comment you need to use your real name, and not a title to a blog or what you are trying to sell. besides, you should be trying to sell yourself and not your product.

So if your name is Suzy Que then you need to use Suzy Que. And if your name is Joe Blow, then you need to use Joe Blow as your name. You should NEVER use names like; Male Enhancement, Government Grants, Sex Videos, Blogging Software, or any other title that is not your name. I think that you get my point.

Many blog are set up so that you have to enter your website link before the body of the comment, that will lead people and back-links to your product and/or website. There are many times that I would like to approve people’s comments, and I did at first, but cannot because their name is not there proper name. So I am no longer approving comments where people have not used their real or proper name.

Another thing I’d like to point out, is to be sure that the comment makes sense to the topic/post that you are commenting about. I can always tell when someone is doing a copy & paste with their blog comment or is using a software to make dozens upon dozens of comment posts because they are all the same or make no sense.

For example if I get comments on my ‘About’ page (which I blocked now), that state how this content really helped them to build their business or take it to the next level,…then I know that it was done by a software tool, or it was posted without reading because it makes no sense. Plus if the comment was posted by some software tool, then I will probably get 10-200 of the exact same comments. And yes, I have gotten 250+ comments in 1 day, all saying the same thing.

Lastly, I’d like to talk about using links, or hyperlinks in the body of your blog comment. NEVER DO IT!! If you do, your comments will never get approved by top bloggers and you have just wasted your time and efforts. Your comments will just be deleted! Besides that is not personable and you cannot build relationships that way.

I know that this only covered a few blog etiquette’s, but I hope this helps you better understand what to do, and what not to do when commenting on blogs. If this article blog post has helped you, please ‘Retweet’ it or ‘Share’ it on Facebook.

Frank Kern’s 3 Magic Bullets Of Money-Getting

  • Posted on October 5, 2010 at 8:07 pm

Frank Kerns 3 Magic Bullets Of Money GettingI came across a blog post tonight (Ty Tribble) that talked about Frank Kern’s PDF – The Three Magic Bullets Of Money-Getting. Yes, you read that right…Money-Getting. I’ll briefly explain what He means by Money-Getting in this article post below.

Now if your any kind of a true Internet Marketer then you inevitably know who Frank Kern is. If not, well let me just say that he is a top earner in the industry and that he has a no bullshit kinda of mentality. Which is why I probably like him so much myself. With that said, let’s move on to the point of this post…
Now many Internet Marketers are busy doing busy work and not productive work. What do I mean by busy work? Well basically it’s work that doesn’t make you money.
Think about what you do throughout your day on a daily basis for your network marketing or MLM business? Now think about how much of that activity does not ‘show you the money’?

Hmmmmm…Let me explain it a bit differently.

For Example:

- Idol chit chat with other Internet Marketers and friends on Facebook and Twitter

- Watching videos on YouTube (not training videos)

- Making inspirational and motivational posts on social media daily

These do NOT show you the money!

So what should you be doing to make more money in your business? Frank simplifies three things for you.
Frank Kern’s 3 Magic Bullets Of Money-Getting:

  1. Get More Customers
  2. Sell More Stuff To Existing Customers
  3. Increase Frequency Of Purchase

So how do you apply these 3 magic bullets in your business? Simple if you actually use some common sense and think about it for a second…

  • You get more customers and distributors
  • You help you team members get more customers and distributors (rinse and repeat)

You call the people on your optins or any other list you have on a daily basis. You are not a sales person, but a recruiter looking for serious people that are looking to make a change in the quality of their life. You tell people about any products or programs that you have that can help them or any products or programs that your friends may have that can help them. After all this is a network marketing business of people helping people and that is how you grow your team.

There is a saying that successful Internet Marketers say…
“If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.”
Remember YOUR time is valuable, so spend it actually making money. If you would like a free copy of Frank Kern’s PDF click here.

How To Upload A YouTube Video To A Facebook Fan or Business Page

How To Upload A YouTube Video To A Facebook Fan or Business PageI have been asked a lot lately, how I uploaded YouTube videos to my Facebook Pages.  So to make things easier in the future, I decided to just write an article post about this topic that I could direct people to.

In case you didn’t know, you can’t just upload a YouTube video to one of your Facebook Pages.  The YouTube video needs to be converted first.    So to do that is really quite simple.  Just follow the steps below and you will be good to go.

  1. Have the YouTube video that you want, open in a tab or window
  2. Open a new tab or window, and go to www.keepvid.com
  3. Copy the YouTube video link and paste the link into the URL area on keepvid.com and click download
  4. You will be given a choice.  Save the video as an MP4 to your computer
  5. Now open and go to your Facebook Fan or Business Page and go to the video tab and click upload
  6. Browse and choose the video you saved and want to use
  7. give the video a title and a short description, and then proceed with uploading the video to Facebook
  8. As soon as the video is approved, it will show up on your Facebook Page and you can then start directing people to it

You see, it really is quite simple to do yourself.  I would even suggest creating a folder on your desktop just for these Facebook videos.  I hope this was helpful.  If it was please leave a comment and retweet this article post.  Good luck in your endeavors.

Backing Up A WordPress Blog Using A Simple PluginIf you’ve ever experienced a site or computer crash, then you know how much of a nightmare it can be. But imagine how much worse it would be if you had forgotten to backup your information and you lose months, or even years of work. Don’t make her mistake!

I just read a post on a colleagues’ blog about how to backup our own WordPress blog(s) and what I liked about this post is that the author has made an easy to follow video so you can follow along step by step. It is very easy to do but we often forget this step for some reasons. Here is the video which will show you how to do it yourself.

The author of that article has really impressed me because of her ability to show people how to do it in a simple step by step format. So make sure you read her article and watch her video which explains everything so that you too can easily backup your own blog(s).
